Road Trip & Festival Summer Fashion Lookbook

I officially did the warm-weather closet changeover last weekend, relocating all my sweaters to the guest bedroom closet and bringing my Summer clothes front and center. Summer in Vegas is like no other— we’ve got high temperatures, and nonstop events like music festivals, food festivals, and nonstop nightlife.

While my day-to-day summer uniform consist of t-shirts and frayed denim shorts, I knew I needed to step it up for my jam packed summer calendar. We’ve got festivals, concerts, road trips and beach vacations lined up so my wardrobe has to be on point.

Luckily, a bunch of outfits from Speechless Dresses came in the mail a couple weeks ago and it’s finally sunny enough to wear them out. Watch the video above for the full haul, and keep scrolling for some of my favorites in this summer fashion lookbook.

I absolutely love the Rebecca Ruffle Dress, which is a simple pull-over with an elastic waist. It’s so easy to wear because the pattern and design does all the talking. It’s a bright red-orange with aqua accents and a high neck, with ruffle details in the skirt. It’s an incredibly flattering silhouette on my pear shaped body. You can dress it down with sandals, or wear some booties for a more country vibe. It’s super comfy and flowy, perfect for festivals (but be careful in the wind!).

Gingham Playsuit: Summer Outfit Inspiration for festivals, road trips and vacation. | Slashed Beauty

Let me preface my absolute obsession with this romper with the following. Rompers are incredibly hard for me to fit into, since I have a long torso and shorter legs. This cause most jumpsuits to serve me major cameltoe and wedgie action if I move my arms even the slightest bit. But this one fits perfectly!!!

This gingham romper (which will be added to the site soon– I will update when it’s in stock!) fits me like a glove. I ordered a size Large, and it worked out perfectly. It’s a simple playsuit, but with a fun layered tie detail on top that gives it a major 40s vibe! I love the retro feel, and it’s perfect for a casual day out. Or, throw on some heels and red lipstick and you’ve got yourself a night out look.

I usually don’t like messing with jumpsuits because of the whole bathroom situation, but since this playsuit has spaghetti straps, it’s easy to get in and out of. The fabric is on the thinner side as well, so you can bunch it up without struggling.

For something in between casual and dressy, I’m loving this lace slip dress. The April Pom Pom Swing Dress is a soft blush color and is another slip-over style. It’s a pretty straight silhouette, but it will hug your natural curves. It definitely has less movement than the ruffle dress so it’s a little more safe for windy-weather, but it is on the shorter side with tassels on the hem. The straps are also adjustable to help with the fit.

Finally, my absolute favorite from my haul was the Whiskey Lace Mini Dress, which is a lace halter body-con type dress that is hella flattering!!! Where’d my stomach go?? Who gave me those curves?! This dress is magic!!

Festival Bodycon Dress: Summer Outfit Inspiration for festivals, road trips and vacation. | Slashed BeautyLace bodycon: Summer Outfit Inspiration for festivals, road trips and vacation. | Slashed BeautyThe rust color is very desert appropriate and I could totally see myself wearing this to a festival party, or at dinner on vacation. I like wearing this particular dress bra-less because of the deep v-neck and open back.

I’m totally looking forward to rocking these outfits, and the others from my haul in the video, this summer for festivals, road trips and on vacation.
