REVIEW: Porter Fig Solid Fragrances

If you’re a fan of natural beauty products, then perhaps you’ve already dabbled in the world of solid perfume. If not, you’re missing out!

Solid perfumes are often made with wax and oils to create natural, subtle scents. Porter Fig, a California beauty brand, has a plethora of alluring fragrances that come in the solid format.

    REVIEW: Porter Fig Solid Fragrances

Porter Fig’s solid fragrances are vegan, made with 100% pure oils and wax. I have them in Amber and Vanilla. Amber, my favorite of the two, has a sweet, tangy, yet earthy scent that I absolutely love. Vanilla does right by its name; it’s not over-the-top sweet, but just right. Both fragrances are light and subtle.

    REVIEW: Porter Fig Solid Fragrances

While liquid perfumes often contain alcohol, which dries out the skin, the natural oils in these solid fragrances moisturize wherever you apply them. The oils also mix with your body chemistry, so each scent will be unique to the individual. Since they are made without chemicals, the scent wears off after about two hours. However, the tiny tins are perfect for popping in your purse to touch up throughout the day.

    REVIEW: Porter Fig Solid Fragrances

The ingredients list in Porter Fig’s solid fragrances is straight forward: fragrance, candelilla wax, olive oil, coconut oil, and rice bran oil. I like knowing exactly what I’m putting on my skin! I typically pick up the fragrance by swirling my finger in the tin to melt it down a bit, then rubbing it behind my ears, on my neck, and in the hollows of my collarbone. Since it’s all natural, I’ve also rubbed a bit onto the ends of my hair for moisture!

You can purchase Porter Fig solid fragrances for $12 on their website. They come in a tin with 1 oz of product. It will take you a long time to get through one of these, trust.

Have you tried any type of solid fragrance before?

    1. Ooh – Vanilla. I love Solid perfumes but wish they came differently. I worked with Perfumies last year and their perfumes come in a lip balm type tube so it’s easy to apply. I’m just a nut when it comes time to dip into a jar… especially since I like to touch up scents on the go. I want to check this out though. 😉

    2. I’ve never tried solid perfumes before! I’ve not found any fragrance lasts very long on me, so that’s not a deterrent. I’d love to try the vanilla – they say that a man can’t resist it! lol

    3. I’ve tried one solid scent before and you just reminded me how much I loved it! Definitely looking more into grabbing these 🙂

      • As I mentioned, they’re made without the chemicals normal perfumes contain. So they do wear off after about two hours. But these are really best for a subtle scent lover. Only people close by will be able to smell it on you, rather than emanating a cloud.
