REVIEW & SWATCHES: Maybelline Color Tattoos “Dare to Go Nude” for Spring 2014

IT IS OFFICIAL, EVERYONE! The Dare to Go Nude Maybelline Color Tattoos for Spring 2014 have been confirmed to be limited edition. There was much speculation, since they were the only products in the Spring line that did not have the limited edition stickers on them. However, these will be flying off the shelves fast and for good, so grab them while they’re hot!

Last week, Rite Aid was having a BOGO 50% off Maybelline sale, so I took it upon myself to pick up the shades Caramel Cool and Pure Nude.

Caramel Cool is more of a cool copper shade, with a metallic sheen. It strikes me as a fall color, but I can see myself pairing it with a punchy pink lip.

Pure Nude is a shimmery champagne. In the pot, you can see a pink undertone, but it doesn’t quite transfer onto the skin. This works really well as a base for other colors, a highlight, or even for the lid to glam up a bare-faced look.

The Maybelline Color Tattoos are dense, yet easy to blend. I noticed that Pure Nude needed to be layered and tinkered with to eliminate patchiness, as I’ve experienced with other shimmery Color Tattoos. However, Caramel Cool glides on effortlessly and I have a feeling it will become a popular all-over-lid shade in my collection. They both apply much more easily with the fingers than a brush. On my oily eyelids, I only started to see creasing after about 8 hours… and that’s without primer!

There are 6 shades in this limited edition collection, and they’re disappearing fast at my local Rite Aid. They cost around $6.99 each, but I say: find out which drugstore is having a sale and snatch them up for cheaper! Color Tattoos are fool-proof cream eyeshadows that anybody can work with and find a use for.

Are you taking advantage of any limited edition collections this season?

    1. I’ve been looking everywhere for them. A few weeks ago, I finally found a limited edition display with the matte Color Tattoos and I snapped them up. It’ll probably be months, if ever, that I see these at CVS near me

    2. Girl I am so far behind on these color tattoo cream shadows, I just last Thursday got the Inked in Pink and the Taupe one, I got the Taupe one because I thought it was Bad to the Bronze because that is what the store shelf label said so and I didn’t check….LOL!! But I am sure I will love it too!!

    3. I love the color tattoos. Carmel cool is so pretty. I haven’t seen these ones in stores but I will have to keep an eye out for them.

    4. I love color tattoos and these colors are gorgeous. I love their price tag. That was such a great move on Maybelline’s part to come out with a product that rivals many high end brands. I’m definitely going to keep my eyes open for these.
