REVIEW: Freeman Beauty Avocado & Oatmeal Facial Clay Mask

Giving myself a mini facial has turned into an end-of-week tradition for me this semester. I love knowing that I’m done with classes and work for a whole three days and can pamper myself while indulging in blog reading and YouTube watching.

I have to admit, I’ve always been pretty skeptical of those face mask packets you find hanging from the walls at the drugstore. You may be familiar with the Freeman Beauty brand and their own selection of face masks, but I had never actually tried any of their products before! Thanks to Freeman Beauty and Klout.com, I was finally able to try a packet of the Avocado & Oatmeal Facial Clay Mask.

The packet contains half of an ounce of the mask formula, which is actually enough for about three to four applications. Unfortunately, the packet is not resealable so if you want to use some at a later time, you’ll have to store it in a plastic baggie. Surprisingly, the mask didn’t dry out when stored away and I used it a total of three times over a period of two weeks.

The Avocado & Oatmeal mask has a thick consistency, no scent that I can recall, and that old-school green face mask color. It dries pretty quickly when applied to the skin, so I was surprised I was successfully able to store the leftovers for later use! This particular face mask from Freeman Beauty is marketed towards oily skin. To avoid drying out your face, the brand advises those endowed with combo skin to only apply it to the oily areas. I don’t play by the rules so I applied it to my whole face (actually, I hadn’t read that tidbit from the brand at the time of use… whoops).

After using this mask, there was a noticeable difference in the appearance of the size of my pores, and the oil from my face had definitely been eliminated. Since I was such a rule breaker and applied this puppy to my entire face, it was left feeling pretty dry and tight (go figure). Next time, I will definitely just apply to my T-Zone! Either way, I love how smooth my face felt after every use.

One of these packets costs about $2, but a full-sized tube (6 fl oz) is only $4! The packets are a great way to find a mask that’s right for you, and I love that the full product is still so extremely affordable. I know I’m for sure going to be picking this one up. The Freeman Beauty Avocado & Oatmeal Facial Clay Mask is perfect for individuals trying to combat oily skin and pesky pores, and is such a bargain!

Have you had any good experiences with packet face masks?

    1. So, my skin is…annoying. It isn’t awful looking, I’m just pale so it’s blotchy and I break out more than a normal. It’s not terrible, but I haven’t felt okay with my skin since middle school. I’ve tried everything.

Seriously. I’ve tried proactive, prescription medicine, thousands of cleansers

Long story short, I learned of the Citrus Clear Products – specifically the Clay Mask – and I thought…well, what do have to lose?

You guys, I left a decent layer on my skin for 10 minutes, and did what the instructions said, and my skin wasn’t perfect, but it was brighter, more even toned, and healthier looking after just the first use.

    2. Clay masks are so great for instantly purifying the skin and getting rid of excess oil, but many of them irritate and overdry my skin so it’s hard to find the right one. It’s nice that Freeman has the single (double) use packets for $2 so we can find the perfect mask 🙂
