About a year ago, BH Cosmetics started their Forever Nude line of products with the gorgeous rosy neutral makeup palette with six eyeshadows, two blushes, a highlighter and two lip shades. While I passed on that one since had no excuse for adding any more neutral shades to my collection, I did bite the bait last month when they released the follow up palette: the Forever Nude Sculpt & Glow Contouring Kit.

Contouring took last year by storm as the most coveted beauty skill. All-in-one palettes like this one have become incredibly popular, and my preferred products for sculpting and adding color to my face. They are convenient, and you can expect all of the shades to work together well. I picked up the Sculpt & Glow Contouring Kit in the darker of the two palettes, Medium/Deep. It includes two highlights: a satin matte eggshell and sparkly peach shade, a shimmery berry blush, and two bronzers: one medium cool toned matte, and a deeper warm matte.

My first impression of the palette was that of surprise that this palette was geared towards medium to deep skintones. Although the bronzing shades flatter my medium, yellow-toned skin, I can’t see them working for anybody more than a few skin tones deeper than my own. Either way, all the shades were fairly pigmented, smooth and easy to blend.

Although the cool toned bronzer is so light, it still does well for natural contouring. However, I like to go a little harsh for more dramatic looks, and this won’t offer that type of sculpting. The warm bronzer was definitely more noticeable on my skin, but I’ve learned that contouring with warm shades makes the look less natural.

I never thought “matte” and “highlighter” would go together in the same sentence, but the eggshell shade works best to brighten the undereye area. The peach highlighter is the one product in the palette that would be great for deeper skintones. It has a rosy gold sheen with very fine shimmer particles that create a pretty glow.

The actual blush is my favorite part of the palette— it’s pigmented and the shade looks really beautiful on tan skin. It’s a great color for winter, as I tend to wear darker blushes this season.

For just around $12, the Forever Nude Sculpt & Glow Contouring Kit is a pretty palette that gives you everything you need for a defined and radiant face. Despite its name, the Medium/Deep kit will work best for light-medium to tan skin. Using a palette like this is easier than juggling several products at once, and the price is right for the quality.

What do you look for in contouring kits?

    1. I’m really bad at contouring, but this palette looks like it would be fun to play with. And I love that raspberry blush 🙂
