Relaxing Las Vegas Cabana at JW Marriott

Free time during summer in Vegas usually means one thing: hanging out at the pool. It’s the best way to cool down during our triple digit days. Now, when you think of a Vegas pool, images of drunk and loud crowds and pounding music may come to mind. At least, that’s what I thought every Vegas pool was like besides the one in my own neighborhood community. But recently, I discovered a gem off strip in Summerlin that is the perfect way to get your pool fix in.

The JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa is about twenty minutes northwest of the strip and offers an upscale yet family friendly atmosphere. You can still get your gambling fix in the adjoining Rampart Casino, or stick to the resort wing of the property for the ultimate relaxation and culinary experience. The JW Marriott features a full service spa, fitness center, delicious restaurants and one of the best pool areas I’ve visited!

In my humble opinion, the best way to do a Vegas pool is in a cabana, especially if you’re spending the day with friends. It allows you space to spread out, a bit of privacy and a server for all the snacks and drinks that make a pool day complete.

The cabana packages at the Marriott are pretty affordable in comparison to the rest of the area, and they also run specials so you can enjoy them potentially for free!

From April 8 to October 31, 2019, if you stay two or more nights at the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa, you can enjoy one day by the pool in a private cabana for free Monday-Friday with up to 6 people. If you’re not a hotel guest, there are still great package options.

For a regular cabana (up to 10 guests), The fee is $200 Monday-Friday and $300 Saturday-Sunday and holidays. The cabana fee also includes a Chips & Salsa Plate, Fresh Sliced Fruit Plate and cold water bottles.

Speaking of food and drink, the cabana menu has all the must-have poolside food. I’m talking nachos, chicken wings, and lighter options like salads and tacos.

The regular cabanas are roomy with two patio couches, a TV and mini-fridge inside. You are also accommodated with a patio table with additional seating, and private lounge chairs for tanning. There are misters and an overhead fan to keep cool, and drapes if you want to completely close off the cabana.

There are several pool options at the JW Marriott Las Vegas. The highlight is definitely the waterfall pool, which is open from March through November. There are little cave hideaways behind the waterfall you can sit and escape from the sun inside. Normal swimming pools, hot tubs, and a whirlpool are other options to relax and splash around. Lifeguards are on duty so it never gets too out of hand with the younger guests, and overall it’s a low key vibe.

If you decide to get a spa treatment done (which I highly suggest), you can also utilize indoor private pools if you really want to remove yourself from the crowds. There are smaller jacuzzis and sitting pools for those with spa access, which comes with any service.

A trip to Vegas doesn’t have to be chaotic and loud. Definitely check out the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa next time if you’re looking for some quality R&R.

My husband used to go twice a year to Vegas on a guy’s trip. The cabanas on the strip were charging $1000 and up by the time he stopped going. He loved the life of being at the pool in a cabana but those places have priced themselves out for the average vacationer. It’s nice to know that going just off the strip can be beautiful and affordable.

I love both of your swimsuits. What a fun day you had! I had a dream I was in Las Vegas last night. Gotta make it happen, though not during the summer 😉

LOL yes, you missed the window of what most consider “bearable” weather. Late September is great, as well as April!
