NYX Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil Review

No matter your skin type, it can be difficult to find a holy grail foundation for Summer. I’m sure I’m not the only one who prefers something that feels lighter and more breathable than, say, what I’d wear in winter. Last week, I shared my favorite BB Cream for oily skin during Summer, but I’ll admit: it was a suggestion definitely geared toward oilier skin.

Just in time for those of you asking What about for my dry/normal skin!? the NYX Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil landed across my desk. This $13 tinted moisturizer offers a more satin finish for a fresh faced and natural look. It’s a non-comedogenic and breathable formula that feels incredibly light, so a great choice if you struggle with acne or easily clogged pores. The formula is a creamy consistency that provides up to 8 hours of hydration. It will feel super comfortable if you have dry or normal skin. Honestly, it even plays nicely with my combination face.

The Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil applies incredibly smoothly, and blends to create seamless coverage that’s buildable. As someone who has acne and hyperpigmentation, coverage is just as important as comfort in most cases. This provides just enough— as in, it’s enough for a casual day to even out my skin tone, but I’d probably need to add some concealer if I really wanted to hide dark spots. As you can see in the before and after photo above, the dark spot on my forehead is still noticeable after two layers of the cream. Overall, though, my skin looks even.

The finish is slightly glowy, but not dewy at all. As mentioned previously, I have combo skin, so I definitely start to see shine come through around the 3-4 hour mark in my T-Zone. Nothing a little setting powder can’t fix, though. On most of my more normal areas, the coverage can last 6-8 hours roughly before starting to fade. It stays comfortable throughout the day, and I’ve forgotten that it’s on several times!

The shades don’t oxidize, either what you see is what you get. I’ve been using Beige Camel which is actually a smidge yellow for my skin, but since it can be sheered out, I can make it look like a perfect match with blending and adding bronzer/concealer. There are currently 12 shades that range from light with pink undertones to deeper warm undertones.

The NYX Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil is definitely worth trying if matte finishes aren’t comfortable for you, or you prefer a bit more glow. This truly provides a bare skin finish that lasts with little maintenance throughout the day while giving your skin a dose of hydration. I honestly feel like this will end up being a winter staple when my skin is, in fact, on the very dry side.

Ooo very intrigued! Do you think a lil goes a long way and the product will last a good amount of time or a repurchase that you have to do often. I tried a foundation of theirs last year that I LOVED, however it clogged pores really badly so staying way from it for now. This looks really good especially for summer, and just this climate in general!

I guess it would depend on how much coverage you want to build up! If you don’t need to cover too much, then you can definitely get away with thinner layers and the tube will last you longer!

This is my new favorite foundation from Nyx! It’s approved by my dry skin, too. So happy you love it as well.

Thats good enough coverage for me! I like that it’s buildable but covered MOST imperfections for a natural look. I want to try this one!
