I’ve been looking forward to my Beauty Box 5 to arrive this month, since they tend to get more exciting toward the end of the year. Although it’s a bit too early for holiday themed goodies, I was still pretty happy with the contents in the November 2014 Beauty Box 5. There were a lot of travel sized products that will come in handy this month when I travel. Watch the video for my unboxing and first impressions.
Unboxing & Product Descriptions:
1. Afterfeather Refillable Travel Bottles (1/2 of the Set, Retail: $8.95)
I was really hoping this would be a spray bottle, but it will still be helpful for storing things like shampoo, conditioner, or lotion during travel. Check out my post on how to pack beauty products for travel if you’re stumped on how to bring everything into your carry on.
2. DenTek Floss Picks & Case (Full Size, Retail: $2.49)
This was a little puzzling to receive, especially since I usually get these free after a dentist visit. Meh, either way I’ll pop them in my purse so I can keep my teeth dazzling on the go. It only comes with four, but I think you can get a pack of these at the dollar store… so at least the case will last a while.
3. HASK Macadamia Revitalizing Shine Oil (Full Size, Retail: $2.99)
Very happy to get another HASK item in our box! We got the deep conditioner over the summer which I used right up, and I’ve already tried and love their moisturizing oil. I like using this after flat ironing my hair for ultimate shine. I’ve been discovering a lot of great hair products that contain macadamia oil— it’s a miracle ingredient for my dry hair.
4. Laura Ashley Body Butter (1/6 of Set, Retail: $20)
This is a really unique body butter in the fact that the texture feels like a mousse gel. It is also lightweight, which is another characteristic you wouldn’t expect from a body butter. I got the coconut lime scent, but it’s pretty subtle and pleasant.
5. Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash (Sample Size, Retail: $6.49)
This is my second sample of this body wash and I really like it! The creamy consistency is really moisturizing which is perfect for this season as it gets more chilly. A good companion to warm showers that tend to dry out our skin even more!
Overall, I liked what we got in this month’s box, but as I mentioned in the video: I’m not sure we reached, much less surpassed, the $12 monthly cost of the box. Either way I am probably going to be packing each item from this box with me for my Thanksgiving travels next week!
Beauty Box 5 is a monthly beauty subscription that costs $12/mo. You can order your own subscription or buy these products separately on their website.
