February is a weird time— we’re still technically in winter, but Spring is so close we can taste it. We’re making plans, buying outfits to wear once the weather warms up… plus, we’re starting to get all the spring makeup releases!

So while it may still be dreary outside, and I’m still spending all day in sweatshirts, let’s take a look at what new drugstore makeup and beauty has hit the shelves during the month of February!

Catrice

Aqua Fresh Highlighting Eyeshadow ($7.99)
These cream highlighting eyeshadows have a water-based formula for a lightweight and bouncy feel. They’re supposed to have a metallic finish that’s long-lasting. I’m not sure how the formula would work on my lids… I prefer cream shadows that dry down but according to the reviews, it seems this one may seem to give more of that “glossy eye” effect. I’m curious to touch it, and see if it also doubles as a face highlight.

Prime and Fine Makeup Transformer Drops Waterproof ($7.99)
This one I’m extremely excited for. These makeup drops will “instantly” turn any liquid foundation into a waterproof formula. It reminds me a lot of what the Make Up For Ever Aqua Seal is supposed to do, but of course at a third of the price! I’ve requested this to test out for you, so I hope to do a video showing how it works with my go-to foundation. This sounds perfect for summer, or events like weddings.

Glam & Doll False Lashes Waterproof Mascara ($6.99)
Catrice also just released a waterproof version of their Glam & Doll False Lashes Mascara, which is a brand cult favorite and has very high reviews from Ulta Beauty members. It has a curved comb brush that helps demolish clumps and flare out your lashes for a false lash look. They also released a counterpart mascara primer that you can use with this or any other mascara.

Milani

Conceal + Perfect All-In-One Concealer Kit ($13.99)
For all your concealing needs, Milani just released this concealer kit compact containing 4 shades to tackle everything. The complimentary shades help balance, conceal, color-correct and brighten the skin. There are two options: Light-Medium and Medium-Dark and the shades can either be used individually or together for extra coverage. They also have a color correcting version of this kit containing green, peach, yellow and orange concealer.

Prime Protect SPF 30 Face Primer ($10.99)
I haven’t tried a new drugstore primer in a hot minute, so I’m totally into the idea of this new one that has a generous SPF 30! It’s also a gel formula which will be really nice for summer when I need to avoid heavy products. Sometimes silicone primers just feel like too much, especially if my skin is acting up. Despite the lightweight formula, it still helps smooth skin texture and extend wear time.

Ecotools

Make Life Happen Box ($50)
Ecotools is now curating limited edition monthly lifestyle and beauty boxes!? They’re not subscription based, so you can choose which ones speak to you. The box contains products put together in partnership with lifestyle and beauty influencers (Tia Mowry, Lo Bosworth & Alex Garza to name a few), and will contain 6-8 products to help inspire your beauty routine. February’s box focuses on “Love in All Ways” to help you celebrate the month of love, whether alone, with your girls or your significant other. This month’s box included: EcoTools Confidence in Bloom Beauty Kit, Ulta Beauty Charcoal Mask, Tri-Fecting Wedges, Mask Mates, Polishing EcoPouf, the Small Expert Thermal Styler, and a compact mirror.

Wet n Wild

Goth-O-Graphic Spring Collection ($39.99)
I’m so excited to see Wet n Wild take a fresh take on spring with this hybrid of grunge and unicorn vibes. The Goth-O-Graphic collection contains a bunch of bold products with a metallic twist. You can buy the entire spring collection for $39.99, but they are also all available separately for purchase. The collection includes: MegaGlo Highlighting Powder, MegaGlo Highlighting Stick, MegaGlo Loose Highlighting Powder, MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Metallic Lipstick, MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Liquid Eyeshadow, and MegaLiner Metallic Liquid Eyeliner.
It’s clear that the iridescent finish isn’t going anywhere this spring, so get on board and buckle up!

Rimmel

Wonder Wing Eyeliner ($5.49)
This eyeliner is catching my eye now that it’s crossing the pond into the US. The pointed stamp tip is supposed to help you apply symmetrical wings with just a press. I’ve tried different liner stamps and stencils and they never work, so I have my reservations about this. But, if it works, can you imagine the time you could save? No more using your cat eye as an excuse for being late, though.

Wonder Ombre Holographic Eyeliner ($5.49)
These double ended eyeliners are supposed to help you create an ombre effect with a holographic shift. You’re basically supposed to use the color side first, then top with the holographic tip. My question remains: is it holographic, or iridescent? Because there’s a difference, ya’ll!

COVERGIRL

Take a look at the new drugstore makeup and beauty launches from COVERGIRL and other fave brands that popped up on shelves in February 2018! | Slashed Beauty

Melting Pout Matte ($6.99)
As part of Covergirl’s latest re-branding, the new Melting Pout Mattes are the latest liquid lipsticks in the game. The lightweight matte finish is supposed to be packed with color and “nourishing ingredients,” though I can’t find what those nourishing ingredients are on ANY website. If you know, let me know. Either way, I really like the shades as part of this launch— we have a lot of bold colors like Super Model (deep blue) and Gray Matter (grey beige).

Essence

Metal Shock Eyeshadow ($4.99)
Another one finally making its way to the US, the Metal Shock Eyeshadows are liquid shadows with a bright reflective finish. I’m very curious how these look dried down, if they dry completely matte, etc. The shades look really pretty and would be great for festival season.

Jordana

Triple Play All Over Color ($4.99)
You know I’m all about multi-use products. This 3-in-1 blush stick can be used on the lips, cheeks AND eyes for a little pop of color. WHAT!? I’ve never heard of a product being both lip and eye safe… intriguing. Although I’m not sure my personal comfort going between lips and eyes without sanitizing first. I don’t know. Either way, I think the idea is really neat, especially for universal neutral shades you can swipe everywhere for a really easy look. They’re only sold online through the brand’s site, but can also be found in-stores at Walgreens.

Instant Glow Liquid Highlighter ($4.99)
Yasss thank you for more drugstore liquid highlighters! I live for liquid illuminators because they are easier to build up without looking dusty, in my opinion. The Instant Glow highlighters are supposed to offer a natural looking glow to either your cheek bones or added to your liquid foundation.

Man, February was a seriously busy month for beauty! Things aren’t going to be slowing down anytime soon— can’t wait to see what’s next from our favorite brands.

Which new drugstore makeup launch are you most excited for?

Is anything (makeup wise) really every holographic? LOL. I don’t even know if it’s really possible. Meh, I don’t really bug about the terminology. I love all of it regardless, irridescent or duo-chrome or multi-faceted or unicorn/mermaid whatever, these are ALL my jam. That WetnWild has me like BAM. I need it all. LOL.

Haha I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a true holographic product besides nail polish!

I really like the Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadows! I’m just not sure if I would be able to wear them. Some things in makeup are so much harder when you get older. LOL!
I do now that I will be getting the Jordana 3-in-1 blush stick! I love multi-use products. I was actually going to get some of the trèStiQue Blush sticks because I used the one that I received from Ipsy bag so I was totally getting ready to order a couple. But, it’s pretty pricey at $28, So at $4.99 that is an awesome price.
I am also getting their liquid highlighter. Most of the drugstore ones that I’ve been trying look like glitter on my face.

Yes, I hate glitter on my face!! lol I like more of a blowy sheen. Yes, I also like treStiQue but it can get so expensive! Maybe these will be a drugstore dupe. Thanks for visiting, Paula
