Well hey there, Beauty Box 5, it’s been a while! I admit— I’ve been holding back on the BB5 unboxings the past couple months because they were pretty underwhelming compared to some of my other subscriptions… but I thought I’d give the February 2015 Beauty Box 5 a chance, since it is their birthday month after all.
I’m glad I did, because I was actually pretty pleased with what we received this month. Of course, I’m always happy when receiving makeup items in subscription boxes. Check out my unboxing video below for a closer look:
1. Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow in Vanilla Frosting (Full Size, Retail: $22.50)
This cute little shadow will make an intense highlight for my spring eyeshadow looks! It can also be used as a face highlighter, but I’m not sure I’m looking for THAT much drama. Very appreciative of the sifter inside the pot, since loose shimmer shadows can get a little messy.
2. Revlon ColorStay Nail Enamel (Full Size, Retail: $3.99)
YAAAS. So happy to get this in our box this month. Revlon knows how to make nail polish, let me tell you. The brush is so easy to use, the colors are often one-coaters, and they last! I’m loving this shade, Velvet Rope, which has a marsala-vibe going on. Perfect for all the red carpet events this month, too. 😉
3. Absolute New York Absolute Love Lip Balm (Full Size, Retail: $5)
This is a handy little tin of sheer pink tinted lip balm that seriously smells like sweet, sugary bubble gum. It’s more slick than balmy, but feels good on the lips.
4. Avon Big Color Eye Pencil (Full Size, Retail: $3.49)
Totally digging this eye pencil! It glides on so effortlessly and smoothly, and the bronze color is strong! I love these chubby eyeshadow sticks for apply-and-fly application for all over the lid. Just a little blending and you’re good to go!
5. GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment (Sample Packet, Retail for Full: $69)
I’ve been so curious about this mask since almost every beauty blogger has raved about it. At such a steep price, it’s nice to get a generous sample to try it out before purchasing (although I doubt I could bring myself to spend nearly seventy bucks on a face product!).
Not only did we get a great selection of cosmetics this time round, but four out of five were full size! That’s what I’m talking about. I really do hope that this box will showcase the quality of products we’ll be getting in the months to come.
Beauty Box 5 is $12/mo and you can sign up on their website.
