Thank you Galderma Laboratories, L.P. for sponsoring this post. Submit your no-makeup selfie with 100-word essay on how you would use the extra time if you could help alleviate some of your tough skin days and go makeup free to enter into Galderma’s “Break Up with Your Makeup” contest for a chance to win a trip to sunny Los Angeles!
As much as I love painting my face, expressing myself through makeup, I can’t tell you how much I enjoy having no-makeup days. You know the mood—when you just want to relax, kick back, maybe go for brunch with the girls the second you roll out of bed on a Sunday morning. Makeup is fun, but I don’t need it to feel beautiful—and neither should you.
But I will admit, since I currently struggle with acne, breakouts make me feel… blah. Just not as great as I normally do. My first instinct is to grab my concealer and go to town. Skin problems are common reasons why someone may have faltering self-confidence. It definitely hinders the chill mood I normally have when I go makeup-free… and just turns into insecurity.
Clear skin symbolizes healthy skin, and I’ve always held the mindset that when you’re feeling healthy and good about yourself, you’re at your most beautiful. If you feel like you have to cover up with heavy foundation and concealer, the problem still persists and you miss out on the ‘get up and go’ freedom of healthy skin. This is why I constantly stress the importance of a carefully tailored skin care routine— finding products that address your personal skin concerns instead of a “one size fits all” solution. Because once you feel comfortable in your own skin, beauty will shine from within, whether or not you’re in makeup. And when you are in makeup, you can ditch full coverage products and put even more of your natural beauty on display.
Whenever a new problem area pops up, I feel like I can’t get a break. I know you can relate when your own skin is giving you problems. I can’t imagine any situation where I’d be thankful to have annoying skin concerns… except recently when I found out about the Break Up with Your Makeup contest.
Galderma Laboratories, L.P., the maker of Miravso® (brimonidine) Topical Gel, 0.33%* that helps treat persistent facial redness of rosacea, is giving women with rosacea or who think they might have rosacea a chance to win a spa getaway in my hometown of sunny Los Angeles! Your skin will be the center of attention, in the best possible way.
All you have to do is share a no-makeup selfie and say what you would do with the extra time if you could help alleviate some of your tough skin days.
