DIY Vanilla Latte Lip Scrub Tutorial

I have a thing about dry lips. They might just be my biggest pet peeve. I’m compulsive about applying lip balm throughout the day and can’t stand when I have any dry patches. Plus, chapped lips look terrible underneath any lipstick— especially matte!

Lip scrubs are my saving grace during winter when my lips betray me and become patchy due to the dry, chilly weather. You know what else rocks this season? Warm, yummy lattes. So I put two and two together to create this vanilla latte flavored DIY lip scrub.

Use this homemade lip scrub to keep your lips smooth, free of dry patches, and well moisturized.

    Ingredients

    Instructions

    1. Fill the pot halfway with water over a medium heated stovetop. Place a glass bowl into the pot to create a double boiler.
    2. Scoop coconut oil into bowl and soften for a few minutes. You want the coconut oil to still be solid, yet malleable. Take the bowl off of the pot! I left my bowl in the pot and the oil liquified, lending for a longer chill time. If you don’t have access to a stove, you can also soften the coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl in 10-second bursts.
    3. Add in the coconut sugar, instant coffee, and vanilla extract one at a time until well blended.
    4. Spoon mixture into a small container for storage.
    5. If your scrub seems a little too soft or melted, chill uncovered in the fridge for 10-20 minutes.

    Notes

If you live in a warm environment or are running the heater inside, store in fridge to keep from melting. Otherwise, store in a cool, dry place.
