For the past few months, I’ve been mentioning over and over again how my skin has been acting up. My favorite skincare products suddenly weren’t working… which is to be expected after extended use. It’s healthy to switch up your skincare routine, because after a while your skin “gets used” to your products and their effectiveness will decrease.
My skin has been so fussy. If you have combination skin like I do, you know at times it can be the worst of both worlds: dry in some places, but always oily in my T-zone. I picked up various scrubs and washes that either made me feel like I was left with a mask on, or dried up like a prune!
About a month ago, Tina from the My Highest Self Blog sent me the new Biore Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser to try out. Reading the back label, it seems like this cleanser was made for me! “Don’t treat all of your skin like oily skin and sacrifice the dry parts of your face to get rid of the oil on other parts,” it prods.
The cleanser is supposed to restore balance to your skin, and remove problem-causing dirt and oil from your face. I usually apply this cleanser in the morning before putting on my makeup. (Side note: you should always wash your face in the morning- your pillow transfers a lot of oil/dirt from your hair onto your face!) At night I’ve been using the Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser specifically to clear up acne.
The formula feels a little slimy at first, with medium thickness. It applies clear, lathers into a foam and has a fresh, clean scent.
After using this paired with the ToiletTree Pro Skin Care System for about a month now, I have to say I’m extremely impressed. The balance of my skin has improved noticeably; my T-zone gets less and less oily per day of use, but my skin isn’t drying out. Although immediately after use, I do have to put some kind of moisturizer on or I’ll go crazy, but that’s how I am with any face wash.
This cleanser isn’t necessarily targeted to clearing up acne, but will remove the oil and dirt that may be causing your acne. It also removes face makeup in a snap.(I usually remove my makeup with a Neutrogena wipe, and the cleanser takes care of anything left behind) I think it’s a perfect morning product and ideal for every-day use for individuals with or without problem skin.
The Biore Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser is only a little over $5, so it definitely fits into my budget. I’ll be repurchasing in the future!
