48-hour Dry Sprays: Light, Fresh & Clothes-Friendly

Deodorant. It’s not necessarily the most glamorous of personal products, but it’s one we’re all using regularly in our routine… I hope. 😉 But what makes a good deodorant goes beyond keeping you dry and smelling fresh all day.

For years the standard choices for deodorant were sticks and gels, which both had their pros and cons. Sticks notoriously leave white marks on outfits, while gels take time to dry— otherwise they’ll also leave stains. I’ve definitely had to go a whole day with stupid wet-looking spots on shirts because I didn’t wait long enough to get dressed and dash out of the door. So annoying.

I’m not taking any more chances, especially for upcoming holiday parties, so I went to go pick up another bottle of Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant on my last grocery trip to Kroger.

This was one of my go-tos during summer, especially at Coachella where it kept me as sweat free as possible in the scorching desert. Who knew it would also be a holiday game changer for this season’s party outfits?

Dry sprays are amazing year-round, offering 48 hour antiperspirant protection with a lightweight, instantly dry spray. At first, I was skeptical; how could something that feels and looks nonexistent get the job done? Maybe TMI, but when I brought my Dove spray with me to Coachella to avoid sweat marks on my white shirt (which was such a mistake because of the dust, but that’s a different story), I couldn’t believe that it actually kept me dry in 110+ degree weather.

Also, because it’s a fine spray, it doesn’t feel like you’re globbing on product. Your skin feels as if there’s nothing there, but smells clean and stays fresh. The Dove spray specifically is also moisturizing, so even though I’m staying dry, my skin feels soft and smooth. Aside from doing a bangin’ job at keeping me feeling and smelling great, knowing that I don’t have to tiptoe around certain outfits for fear of stains is what makes it a real game changer in my book this season. Especially since Polyester, the most susceptible to deodorant stains, is having a moment in fashion recently.

I even slipped a men’s dry spray in Adam’s stocking, but let him raid it early so he can also protect his dress shirts from the white deodorant stick he normally uses for upcoming holiday parties. Everyone wins!

You can pick up a ton of different 48-hour dry sprays for women and men from your own local Kroger from brands like Dove, Degree, and Axe. Try one out and let me know if you’ve converted this season!

Have you tried dry sprays? Which is your fave?

I really wish they made this unscented. Both my husband and I like unscented deodorants.

I prefer deo sprays to gels or sticks – less messy!

I’ve been using the Dove dry spray for a few months now – probably since the spring or so. Now, I’ll get all TMI and honestly tell you that for years, I’ve always had a problem with stinky armpits! No matter what I’ve tried – clinical, prescription, extra strength, even men’s, whatever – nothing ever worked for more than a few hours. That dry spray has literally been my saving grace. A spritz or 2 in the morning and I’m good all day. I’m rarely such an advocate for new products but this stuff is the real deal. Not to mention, I have the one you have pictured above, which claims to reduce the discoloration you may have under your arms. I never expected that part, but I’ve been rather surprised to find that the skin in my armpits has actually cleared right up and looks and feels amazing. This spray is by far my new favorite product out there!

I swore off aluminum-containing antiperspirants, but back when I still used them, Dove were among my favorites. The scents were great!

I’m not usually a spray kinda girl but I received the Dove from Influenster and I really like it. My husband flipped for the men’s version. That is huge, he NEVER likes new things. lol

Many years ago when I first started using deodorant (age 12), spray deos were all the rage. Then there was an announcement that sprays were bad for the ozone layer and sprays disappeared. Now I know they can do a spray that’s not harmful, but I still haven’t gotten back to them. They are much quicker and less messy than gels so I probably should give ’em a try
