5 Skin Care Products for Winter Skin that Glows

Winter has finally hit Los Angeles. Not two days after Thanksgiving, we finally experienced a drop in temperature. Surprisingly, unlike previous years, my skin isn’t all that mad about it! While I usually experience eczema and patchy, dry flaky skin, this season my skin has been looking pretty tame for once.

I’ve definitely been super diligent with my skin care routine lately, but I think I can attribute my glowy winter skin to a handful of game changers that I’ve introduced to my skin more recently.

Read on to discover what I’ve been using to keep my skin hydrated, healthy and nourished this season.

1. PMD Personal Microderm Pro

Let’s get the big kahuna out of the way, because while it’s not cheap, it’s definitely made an impact on my skin. (Wishlist item, anyone?) The PMD Pro lets you get personal microdermabrasion at home to reduce the appearance of lines, blemishes and enlarged pores. It’s basically the most intense exfoliation I’ve ever done, and it has kept my skin incredibly smooth. I’ve also been experiencing less breakouts— especially of the cystic type— since I’ve been using it. On top of that, my acne scars and hyperpigmentation has decreased.

I plan on doing a more in-depth video about the device on my YouTube channel, so be sure to subscribe.

2. Olly Vibrant Skin Plump Berry Vitamin Gummies

I’ve never really had the best luck with skin supplements until sticking with the Olly gummies. First of all, they are delicious— I don’t know about you, but most supplements taste chalky to me… but not these! I could eat them like candy (though you’re not supposed to). With hyaluronic acid, marine collagen, and sea buckthorn, the biggest difference I’ve seen is the fact that my skin doesn’t have that sunken in, dull look that winter usually brings. Especially under the eyes, my skin is looking and feeling moisturized and bouncy.

3. Dickinson’s Enhanced Witch Hazel Hydrating Toner

As a combo girl, alcohol-free toner is everything for helping my skin stay balanced. This Hydrating Toner not only lifts impurities to help cleanse my skin, but also leaves it feeling moisturized and refreshed. My skin has definitely been feeling more even in terms of oil production, so my makeup has been looking better as the day goes on.

4. Derma E Purifying Youth Serum

This product is great for combo or oily skin that still needs nourishing at night without the heavy feel! This serum is actually in lotion form, and is super lightweight while giving you enough moisture to last through the night. It plays nice with my sensitive skin as well, and is my go-to for waking up with glowing skin. A little goes a long way with this, and one pump can cover your chest, neck and face!

5. e.l.f. Micellar Cleansing Water

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: this is my new favorite micellar water. It seems to remove more dirt than other cleansing waters I have tried, which allows me to avoid over-cleansing my face with harsher products. I typically reserve this for the morning time when I’m just wiping away oil and sweat (but usually much more comes off!). I will say though, that getting this in the eyes hurts… a lot. So I focus on using this as a bare-face cleanser rather than a makeup remover.
